The News Module can be used for a lot of different things. Post press releases and other company news. Post announcements on upcoming events or specials. You can even use it as a simple blogging tool.
There are plenty of configuration options.. you can allow or not allow commenting, decide how many items show up on a page, change colors combinations, and you decide if you want to post as one long item or break it down to a teaser and full article type layout.

For some reason my mouse pads never stay put. It is even worse now that I use an optical mouse with those super thing, plastic pads that have a pattern to them rather than the old foam and fabric ones of yesteryear.
In order to keep my pad in it's place, I took a few strips of double-sided Scotch tape (not that foam type stuff) and put them on the back of my mouse pad, then set it where I wanted it.
It stayed put for over a year until I had to switch offices today. The tape came off both pad and desk easily, but I added more tape to the pad when I got to my new desk.
