The News Module can be used for a lot of different things. Post press releases and other company news. Post announcements on upcoming events or specials. You can even use it as a simple blogging tool.
There are plenty of configuration options.. you can allow or not allow commenting, decide how many items show up on a page, change colors combinations, and you decide if you want to post as one long item or break it down to a teaser and full article type layout.

Two new RSS Feed options have been added, one for the Download Gallery, the other for Site Updates.
There is an add-on for the Download Gallery that allows you to put an RSS Feed button on the page, it then creates a feed to keep visitors up to date on what has been added to your download gallery.
And, a RSS Site Updates snipped-module is available that lets you offer an RSS feed that lets users know of the last 10 pages to be updated on your site.
Both of these items are available in the download gallery.
