The News Module can be used for a lot of different things. Post press releases and other company news. Post announcements on upcoming events or specials. You can even use it as a simple blogging tool.
There are plenty of configuration options.. you can allow or not allow commenting, decide how many items show up on a page, change colors combinations, and you decide if you want to post as one long item or break it down to a teaser and full article type layout.

User Comments v0.3 has been released for download.
The modified version of the guestbook now allows the admin to toggle the public visibility of the the comments. The ability to make comments is still only available to registered/logged-in members.
Additional code cleanup was done as well. More information can befound in the Sandbox.
